Alphabet in Different Fonts: A to Z Letters to Copy and Paste

Here is the full alphabet in different fonts, ready to copy and paste. Every letter from A to Z appears below in 16 Unicode styles, including bold, italic, cursive, gothic, bubble and wide text, plus uppercase, lowercase and numbers where a style has them. Select any letter, copy it, and paste it into a bio, caption, username or document.
You may know this as the ABC in different fonts, alphabet fonts or simply fancy letters. It all means the same thing here: normal letters swapped for special Unicode characters that look like a different typeface, so they keep their style wherever you paste them.
Want a whole word or name instead of single letters? Type it once into the FontNova font generator and you will see it in more than 1,600 styles at the same time.
This page also covers something most letter lists skip: some fancy letters are borrowed from a different part of Unicode, and a few simply do not exist in every style. Knowing which ones helps you avoid broken or mismatched text before you post it.

The Full Alphabet in Different Fonts (A to Z)
Each row is one font style. Copy a whole row to get every letter in that style, or pick out single letters. Rows marked “same as uppercase” have no separate lowercase letters in Unicode.

The bold, italic, script, fraktur, double-struck and monospace rows come from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block of Unicode (U+1D400 to U+1D7FF). Circled letters come from Enclosed Alphanumerics, while the black circled and squared letters come from the Enclosed Alphanumeric Supplement. That is why every one of these fancy letters is real text, not an image, and why you can paste it almost anywhere.
Every Letter in Different Fonts
Looking for one specific letter, like an S or a J, in different fonts? Find it below. Each letter is shown in all 16 styles, first uppercase and then lowercase.
A in Different Fonts
The negative squared A (๐ ฐ) is also an emoji character, so some phones show it as a red “A button” emoji instead of a plain letter.
B in Different Fonts
The script capital โฌ comes from the older Letterlike Symbols block rather than the math block, which is why it can look slightly different from the rest of the script alphabet. The negative squared B (๐ ฑ) can also appear as a red emoji.
C in Different Fonts
Both the fraktur โญ and the double-struck โ are Letterlike Symbols, added to Unicode long before the rest of those alphabets.
D in Different Fonts
E in Different Fonts
Script uses two borrowed letters here: the capital โฐ and the lowercase โฏ, both from Letterlike Symbols.
F in Different Fonts
The script capital โฑ is a Letterlike Symbol, and the small caps ๊ฐ comes from the Latin Extended-D block, so older fonts may not have it.
G in Different Fonts
The lowercase script โ is borrowed from Letterlike Symbols, so it sits a little differently next to the other script letters.
H in Different Fonts
H is the most mixed letter in the whole alphabet. The italic โ is the Planck constant symbol, the script โ, fraktur โ and double-struck โ are all Letterlike Symbols, so an H in four different fonts can come from two different parts of Unicode.
I in Different Fonts
The script โ and fraktur โ both come from Letterlike Symbols.
J in Different Fonts
K in Different Fonts
L in Different Fonts
The script capital โ is a Letterlike Symbol rather than part of the math script set.
M in Different Fonts
The script capital โณ is borrowed from Letterlike Symbols.
N in Different Fonts
The double-struck โ is a Letterlike Symbol, the same character mathematicians use for natural numbers.
O in Different Fonts
The lowercase script โด is a Letterlike Symbol. The negative squared O (๐ พ) is also an emoji character and may show as a red blood type emoji.
P in Different Fonts
The double-struck โ is a Letterlike Symbol. The negative squared P (๐ ฟ) doubles as the parking emoji on many phones.
Q in Different Fonts
The double-struck โ is a Letterlike Symbol. There is no small capital Q in common use, so the small caps row keeps a regular q.
R in Different Fonts
R borrows three letters: the script โ, fraktur โ and double-struck โ all come from Letterlike Symbols.
S in Different Fonts
The small caps ๊ฑ comes from the Latin Extended-D block, like the small caps ๊ฐ, so a few older devices may show it as a box.
T in Different Fonts

There is no small capital X in common use, so the small caps row keeps a regular x.
Y in Different Fonts

The fraktur โจ and double-struck โค are Letterlike Symbols. โค is the symbol mathematicians use for integers.
Numbers in Different Fonts (0 to 9)
Numbers are more limited than letters. Unicode only includes styled digits for a few alphabets, so if you mix a cursive name with a number, the number will stay plain.
| Style | Numbers 0 to 9 |
|---|---|
| Serif Bold |
| Sans Bold |
| Circled (Bubble) |
| Black Circled |
| Fullwidth (Wide) |
Italic, bold italic, script, bold script, fraktur and squared letters have no matching digits at all. For a number like a birth year or a player number, use bold, sans bold, double-struck, monospace or the circled styles.
Which Letters Change or Go Missing in Some Styles
Most lists of letters in different fonts look complete, but a few styles have gaps. These are the ones worth knowing before you style a name:
| Style | What changes | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Italic | Lowercase h is โ (the Planck constant symbol) | It looks right in most apps but can sit slightly higher or lower than the other letters. |
| Script | โฌ โฐ โฑ โ โ โ โณ โ and โฏ โ โด come from Letterlike Symbols | Words with these letters can look uneven, since the borrowed letters were drawn separately. |
| Fraktur | โญ โ โ โ โจ come from Letterlike Symbols | Same effect as script: usually fine, sometimes a little mismatched. |
| Double-struck | โ โ โ โ โ โ โค come from Letterlike Symbols | These are math symbols, so they are very widely supported. |
| Black circled, squared, negative squared | Uppercase only | Lowercase letters turn into capitals automatically. |
| Negative squared | ๐ ฐ ๐ ฑ ๐ พ ๐ ฟ are also emoji | They can show up as colored emoji on some phones and break the look of a word. |
| Small caps | No common small capital Q or X, and ๊ฐ and ๊ฑ are newer characters | Choose words without Q or X if you want every letter to match. |
| Italic, script, fraktur | No styled numbers | Digits stay plain inside styled text. |
If a fancy letter shows up as an empty box (โก) on someone else’s screen, their device does not have a font that includes that character. Bold, italic and circled letters tend to be the safest choices, while squared letters and newer characters are more likely to fail on older Android phones and some desktop apps.
How to Copy and Paste Letters in Different Fonts
- Find your letter. Use the table above for a full alphabet, or jump to a single letter section.
- Select it. On a phone, press and hold the letter until the selection handles appear. On a computer, highlight it with your mouse.
- Copy it. Tap Copy, or press Ctrl + C (Cmd + C on a Mac).
- Paste it. Open Instagram, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp or any text field and paste.
Copying one letter at a time works well for initials, logos or a single decorative letter. For a full name or sentence it is much faster to type the text into the font generator and copy the finished result with one tap.
Where Fancy Letters Work Best
Because these letters are Unicode characters, they paste into almost any place that accepts text:
- Instagram bios and names: styled initials or a styled first letter stand out without making the bio hard to read. Our Instagram font generator shows which styles suit bios, names and captions.
- Usernames and gamer tags: a single fancy letter can make a common name unique. If you still need a name, try the username generator.
- Discord, TikTok and WhatsApp: bold and monospace letters stay easy to read in busy chats. On Discord you can also shrink a line with subtext, explained in our guide to small text in Discord.
- Design references: the per-letter lists above are a quick way to compare letter shapes for logos, monograms or tattoo ideas before you pick a real font file.
A few honest limits: screen readers may spell fancy letters out one by one or skip them, search boxes on some platforms will not match styled text to plain text, and Instagram’s 150-character bio limit can fill up faster with decorated styles. Keep the important words, like your real name, in plain text if you want people to find you.
Explore Each Style in More Depth
Each style in the alphabet tables has its own generator on FontNova, with more variations than a single letter list can show:
- Bold text generator for serif bold, sans bold and bold italic letters
- Italic font generator for slanted serif and sans letters
- Cursive font generator for script and bold script letters. Planning script lettering for a tattoo? Read our guide to cursive tattoo fonts first.
- Gothic font generator for fraktur and bold fraktur letters
- Bubble font generator for circled, black circled and squared letters. For ideas on using them, see our guide to bubble text ideas.
- Aesthetic font generator for wide, small caps and double-struck letters
- Glitch text generator and upside down text generator for decorated and flipped letters
- Fancy text generator to see decorative styles side by side
Or skip the lists entirely and use the free font generator on our homepage, which turns any text into every style at once.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the alphabet in different fonts?
It is the letters A to Z shown in several font styles, such as bold, italic, cursive, gothic and bubble. On this page they are Unicode characters, so you can copy and paste them like normal text instead of installing a font file.
How do I get letters in different fonts on my phone?
Press and hold a letter on this page, tap Copy, then paste it into your app. For whole words, type them into the FontNova font generator and copy the styled result.
Why do some letters show as boxes?
A box (โก) means the device viewing the text has no font that includes that character. It happens most with squared letters and newer symbols on older phones. Bold, italic and circled letters display on almost every device.
Are there numbers in different fonts too?
Yes, but only in some styles. Bold, sans bold, monospace, double-struck, circled, black circled and wide text include digits 0 to 9. Italic, script and fraktur do not.
Why does the cursive H look different from the other cursive letters?
The script capitals B, E, F, H, I, L, M and R, plus the lowercase e, g and o, were added to Unicode earlier in the Letterlike Symbols block. They were designed separately, so they can look slightly different next to the rest of the script alphabet.
Can I use these fancy letters in an Instagram username?
You can use them in your Instagram display name, but not in the @username itself, which only accepts letters, numbers, periods and underscores.
